About Dee-O-Gee LoCo
Dee-O-Gee was started in Longmont, CO in the fall of 2021 - born out of a desire of the Shannon family, a local Longmont 'pack' of pet lovers, to bring the Montana-based Dee-O-Gee brand to Colorado.

About the owners
Rachel & Tim Shannon: We are originally from Butte Montana and moved to Colorado after college. We have been in the Longmont area for almost 20 years and all our kids went to the local schools here starting in preschool and now are attending the University of Colorado, University of Northern Colorado and one awesome elementary school in the St. Vrain Valley! We love to camp, ski and hike and are avid sports enthusiast so Colorado is the perfect fit for us and we consider this our forever home.
What made you decide to lead the Dee-O-Gee LoCo team?
We always talked about starting a business that the family can do together. My parents owned a small grocery store when I was growing up in Butte and Tim's parents owned a small appliance store for over 50 years and is now owned by his brother and is still running to this day in uptown Butte. It is in our blood and getting to know your customers and the community personally is the best part of any small business. Our son Brett has joined the Dee-O-Gee team and our hopes is that together we can make this a family business that will continue for many years.
Giving back to the Longmont Community
We recently joined forces with the non profits HOPE and Annie and Millie's place and will be providing daycare for those that are in transition and living in their cars. We help by giving them the opportunity to leave their dogs in a safe environment while they are working on getting their a forever home. HOPE'S Safe Lot program is to help those sleeping in cars obtain a home and Annie and Millie's mission is to keep humans experiencing homelessness together with their fur family by evolving pet-friendly solutions, programs, and resources. Together all three of us can really make a difference in someones life that are in need of some kindness and understanding. We also are bringing the SWAP program of St Vrain Valley to join the Dee-O-Gee team. The purpose of SWAP is to assist young adults in making the transition from school to employment, provide successful employment outcomes, increase community linkages, and new patterns of service for young adults within all categories of disabilities and we are very excited to be giving these young adults the resources to work in the pet industry.
